Nates Whole Layout
A look from the opposite side
This section allows the upper track to merge with the lower one. The track comes in from the other side of the backdrop.
The upper track continues and becomes the 'green' or mountain line in N-track standards. This is also where the west bound blue line (3rd track) ends.
This section of the layout is an old 4 foot N-Track module that's been converted. Nate and Bob Gilmore reworked the mountain line and addded a bridge.
This corner section is also a former N-track module. Scenery is still being added to this section.
The tools of the trade. The corner merges into the next section. It will be the next section to be scenicked
Here the red line splits into a wye. One way continues around while the other way brings us into the staging yard and roundhouse.
Here we see a full view of the yard. The track circles around at the far end, then comes back into the yard, re-combines, and comes back out into the wye.
Here's a good look at the roundhouse and machine shops.
Here we see some industries branching out from the main line. The trees and mountain blocks give an idea of what's to come.
Here's the city section. The downtown area is also an old N-track module.
Here's a close up of the downtown area. Nate says that the trolly line isn't currently working, but he plans to fix it. The blue line disapears here to the right.
This is a picture of the new mountain division bridge while it was under construction.
Here's Bob Gilmore working on the bridge area.
And here it is finished.
This is where the mountain division ends. The city is around the corner to the left.
Here the blue line re-emerges from the other side and climbs up to become the mountain line.
Here's another view of the yard with the water tower and coaling tipple. The ice house is out of view to the lower left.
This is a down close view of a GN passenger consist. You can also see the tunnel where the 'blue' line emerges.
In this scene a Union Pacific GTEL (Gas Turbine) and a pair of GP units pulls a string of refrigerator cars on the main line.
